HOT-DIP GALVANIZED COATING MATERIALS

HOT-DIP GALVANIZED COATING MATERIALS

The hot-dip galvanized coating process is the process of coating the steel by dipping the molten zinc pool into it. This method is one of the leading methods of preventing corrosion formation. The steel left in the zinc pool is coated with an alloy that provides superior protection by reacting with the molten zinc. A product that is galvanized with the hot-dip method can be used for years without any maintenance. In addition to the high protection it provides, the fact that it provides full coverage is one of the reasons why this method is preferred. Electroplating method, which is another zinc coating method, may be insufficient in coating the inside of the material and its details. However, this is not the case in hot-dip galvanized coating. Profile interiors and product details are completely covered in the immersed zinc pool.

Generally, for most metal products, the causes of corrosion and the way it occurs are the same. It starts with rusting in different atmospheric environments and progresses faster on unprotected surfaces, causing the steel to become unusable. This corrosion is quite dangerous for structural steel. Because the high abrasions that the steel is exposed to cause first of all its appearance to deteriorate and then to bending, breaking and fragmentation of the material.

Hot-dip galvanizing can be applied in many product groups. The most preferred product group is the profile group, whose durability and longevity are of vital importance. Steel pipe profiles and steel box profiles are products that are widely used in many sectors. They are used in many sectors that need to provide robust and long-lasting use, as well as the sectors where they are at the forefront with their visuals. All of these needs can be met by the hot-dip galvanized coating method. While the surface has a glossy appearance immediately after the coating process, it becomes dull as time passes and a protective zinc layer in matt gray color is formed.
